8:09 am - Changing of time?
A lot of people are freaking out about the new president. To me, it really doesn't matter. For issues like they are going to raise taxes, blah, blah, blah. Well, US taxes have become the biggest charity in the world. They take my money, and they give it to the less fortunate. Whether Iraqies, poor, drug addicts, homeless, doesn't or just people who are really smart. If my taxes get bumped a lil bit, well I surely don't have to volunteer anything. I'm already giving a lil more then 10% of my income, not including social security (which I'll never get to see) and employment tax. If it goes up to 12, whats a few hundred more while I'm school. I would say about less then 5% of my taxes go to things that help me, the rest go to others in needs. Forget Goodwill, I pay over 2k to the poor already!

As for the new president, he isn't going to change the American system. He still will do things similarly to the pervious sets of presidents. He isn't going to cut our military like Clinton, he needs them to fight in Afganistan like he promised. He isn't going to start some national health care system that isn't more then a check box on a tax for. There isn't a budget for it. We aren't going to dissapear for Iraq in their time of need (not like they need us any more). Its cheaper to keep a base of troop their then destroying all of our current equiptment and buy more.

One thing that does bother me is that once again America did something that was good, and messed it up. I'll correlate it to something else. We went into Iraq on the biggest humanitarian mission we have done in sometime. Then we said, ok guys, you have to be like us now, and they get mad. Nice idea, but its not who they are. People elect a black president because he is black, to show we are past rasism (for those of you who disagree, then listen to my previous post). Sit down and think of the correlations there. America needs to learn a few things from Europe and Asia.

Everyone should just chill, it'll be another day tomarrow with new reasons to hate eachother.

3:25 pm - Heard a few versions of this, but this one relates to me the most
http://www.techonthenet.com/joke.php

A computer programmer happens across a frog in the road. The frog pipes up, "I'm really a beautiful princess and if you kiss me, I'll date you for a week".

The programmer shrugs his shoulders and puts the frog in his pocket. A few minutes later, "Turn me back into a princess and I'll date you for a whole year!". The programmer smiles and walks on.

Finally, the frog says, "What's wrong with you? I'm a beautiful princess whose promised to date you for a year and you won't even kiss a frog?"

"I'm a programmer," he replies. "I don't have time for dating.... But a talking frog is pretty neat."

War, peace, social reform, taxes.
All these are insignificant to me if we don't continue on the MOST important thing to humans, the preservation of life. We all know we can't say on earth forever. Scientist even agree that earth won't fit everyone in a hundred years with the current population growth.
